April 25, 2019

Jason and his son Jeff came up to Yuba City from Modesto this morning to get Jeff on his first ever Striped Bass. The Feather river did not disappoint in the slightest! Jeff had the hot hand and landed countless Stripers with this nice 8lb hen to end the day!

Nonstop Action and Big fish!!

April 22, 2019

Today was another RED HOT day of fishing! Lots of good quality stripers made it into the boat! The minnow bite has been the name of the game on both the Sacramento and Feather river.

Wide Open!!

April 20, 2019

The River is giving up quality limits of Stripers daily now! Every trip offers excellent action on these ferocious predators. Both artificial swim baits and live minnows have been producing well. The swim bait bite has been best in the lowlight morning hours then minnows are the go to once the sun gets higher. Pro-Cure Bait Scents' Sardine Super Gel has been generating lots of extra bites in the cloudy water!

A Strong Delta Bite!

March 20, 2019

We're finally getting some fishable water and the rivers are buzzing with boats. Anglers from all reaches of the Valley are excited about getting into their first Stripers as spring might finally be springing. A very Consistent bite has developed in the California Delta which is usually a very promising sign for the coming months of river fishing. I predict the next full moon cycle will get the herd on the run upriver!

Its Here To Stay.

February 28, 2019

As most of the Sacramento Valley is battening down the hatches in preparation of what is looking to be the biggest flood of the season, I can't help but keep an eye on the flow charts in anticipation of the excellent fishing that is sure to come when this high water decides to finally recede.

More High Water! More Fish!

February 25, 2019

Another storm has moved into the area and is shedding rain across the whole of Northern California. The rise in river level will continue to bing Striped Bass into the river on their annual journey to spawn. The tough conditions we are encountering now will bring great reward later in the spring as the heart of striper season approaches quickly.

Stripers are fired up!

July 8, 2018

Tanner Bloom of J&J Guide Service holds up one of many 'Schoolie' sized stripers caught on this day. These fish feed with abundance in the northern stretches of the Sacramento and Feather rivers.

Early glimmers of a great season!

February 25, 2019

As Spring approaches a high river level is sure to bring an excellent run or striped bass to their spawning grounds. So far we have gotten storm after storm each shedding more rainfall than the last keeping the Sacramento River high and mighty. Between these surges of water we are getting a day or two to try out luck at an early striper with great success.

Stripers are Sticking Around!

August 7, 2018

There are still quite a few line sides roaming the green waters of the Sacramento. Very few people are targeting them this late in the year. This decrease in pressure on the fish can make for an exciting trip full of action.

Feather River Fun!

April 27, 2018

Five year old Sophia Guerra put the smackdown on the stripers today! she showed great enthusiasm throughout the entire trip and made this day one of the most memorable trips i have been a part of. she and her father had their limit of quality Striped Bass early in the morning and topped things off with this nearly 15 lb male as pictured

Early Fall Stripers

This fish, Caught below Corning, California, weighed in at just over 35 pounds. These fish are in the river right now for the taking. There's no such thing as a bad day for fishing.
